B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) is an autonomous engineering college in Basavangudi, Bengaluru spread on 11 acres 30 guntas and about five kms away from the central railway station. It was established in 1946 and is run by the B.M.S. Educational Trust. There are eight group institutions of B.M.S Educational Trust. The group institutions of B.M.S Educational Trust are BMS Institute of Technology & Management, BMS School of Architecture, BMS College of Law, BMS Degree College for Women, BMS PU college for Women, BMS Academy of Science & Research, BMS Evening College of Engineering, and BMS Centre of Executive Education & Distance Learning.

BMSCE is located diagonally opposite to the famous Bull Temple. BMSCE offers 13 undergraduate and 16 postgraduate programmes. They are 14 departments which are recognised as research centres offering PhD/ MSc (Engineering by Research) in Science, Engineering, and Management.

The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest grade of A++ in the second cycle. It is the first institution in Karnataka accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in Tire-I format. The college is the only partner institution of the Melton Foundation, USA from India.

The college has one of the largest student populations amongst engineering colleges in Karnataka. At BMSCE, around 5000 students pursuing their higher studies and over 350 research scholars are pursuing their PhD degree in BMSCE research centres.

In addition to this, DSCE has 20 research centres that regularly involve faculty and students in research activities across multiple domains. These research centres have 116 faculty members who are registered for the PhD programme. The college has also received funding of Rs 4 crore from leading organisations, such as ISRO, DST, DBT and DRDO to carry out research activities. The list of DSCE research centres is given below:
